THE CROSSING

The Crossing sets out to forensically investigate exactly why at least 31 lives were lost on November 24, 2021 in the English Channel; the busiest shipping lane in the world.

STORY

Made over the course of a year, part retrospective, part unfolding investigation The Crossing is built on testimony from one of the survivors, the families of those who died and previously unreleased call records from the French coastguard. The documentary reveals who was on the doomed boat, the reasons why they risked everything that night and who was responsible for their deaths.



IMPACT

Among other outcomes, this film led to the arrest of the alleged ring leader of the smuggling gang responsible for launching the boat.
